Hugo Soucy I lived in the Yukon for a year and a half and this album is kind of my Proust madeleine... All I have to do is listen to it, so that wonderful memories come to the surface and take me back to one of the most beautiful periods of my life.

about

This album was commissioned by the Yukon Arts Centre. Several artists embarked on an epic camping trip that took us to Tuktoyuktuk, the Tombstone Mountains, and the Alsek Glacier in Kluane National Park. A tipsy jam at the Dempster Highway at Eagle Plains Lodge cemented my friendship with Veda Hille, whose influence you may hear in some of these songs. Also on the voyage, the late John Mann and quite a few wonderful others, sharing the intense beauty of places I will probably not see again.
